1981 C-Type Tool-Room Copy
This car was built nearly thirty years ago and has developed a patina of use over the years.
It was constructed by an extremely knowledgeable engineer alongside an original car he was restoring.
The chassis was made by Peter Jaye, whose accurate chassis are considered to be the best available, while the alloy body was made by Classic Autos as an exact copy of their own original car. All suspension, steering and brake components are identical to C-type specification, and some may well be original C-type parts.
The engine incorporates all the correct parts such as C-type sump, correct serial number cylinder block, sand cast 2 inch carburettors, enamelled C-type exhaust manifolds etc. Great attention has been paid to under-bonnet details down to such things as the correct C-type horn, all the correct C-type pulleys, C-type radiator and more. The gearbox is also a correct era Jaguar “Moss” 4-speed unit.
The well-detailed interior has suede green seats exactly to original drawings including a passenger seat incorporating a toolbox. The transmission tunnel is in the correct ribbed Hardura. It has a permanent passenger side tonneau to the original design. the dashboard includes a C-type speedometer and a wonderful D-type chronometric tachometer, which is extremely rare. The car is now registered on an XK150 donor identity.
