GOODWOOD REVIVAL

18 CARS AT THE WORLD’S MOST SPECTACULAR VINTAGE EVENT

Joe Macari lines up for the Sussex Trophy in his Lister-Jaguar shared with André Lotterer

We had eighteen cars at the Revival, including four parade cars in the 75th anniversary celebration of the Jaguar XK engine, and two safety cars, as well as ten cars racing. All of the cars ran solely on sustainable fuel this year. Thank you to Howdens for the display of two cars on their stand over the road - the MkIV and a Lister-Knobbly.

“Out of all eighteen cars, we had not one problem throughout the event, which is testament to the hard work and skill of our dedicated Race Team. The entire workshop has worked tirelessly over the past few months and we are so pleased they are now feeling that hard work paying off.”

- Mark Hews, MD

Racing highlights across the weekend included the Sussex Trophy on Friday evening, which saw the iconic sight of World Championship Sports Cars from Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus and Lister racing into the sunset. We had three cars in the race, including the Lister-Jaguars of Joe Macari / André Lotterer and Shaun Lynn / Max Lynn. The Lister-Jaguar Costin of John Spiers and Nigel Greensall finished a brilliant second place on a damp track which favoured the lighter Lotus XV cars.

Then on Saturday, the Fordwater Trophy saw the XK150 of Marc Gordon victorious in one of the most exciting races of the weekend, after an epic head-to-head battle with the CKL restored Healey 100/6 driven by Tim Crighton. A great 1-2 finish for CKL cars.

“It’s fantastic! It’s still sinking in really…
I can’t quite believe it.”

- Marc Gordon, Fordwater Trophy Winner

MEMORABLE CELEBRATIONS

The 75th anniversary celebration of the Jaguar XK engine saw several CKL restorations on parade laps of the circuit. Highlights included the 1953 Le Mans-winning C-type XKC 051, fresh from its ‘Best in Class’ win at the Hampton Court Concours last week, and the famous E-type lightweight development car '4 WPD' which won ‘Best in Class’ at the Cartier Style et Luxe a few years ago. Also on parade was one of our most recent restorations, the Jersey Road Race XK120 'GEF 120' of Gregor Fisken.

“What a way to round out the last four weeks.”

Mark Hews

A huge thank you to the Duke of Richmond and the @goodwoodrevival team for another spectacular event this year.
