An eight year old Chris steered a type 35 Bugatti (without an engine) down a gentle slope and has been hooked on classic cars and racing ever since.

After 25 years as a Director at Lynx, Chris set up CKL Developments Ltd in 1999. From the start, Chris attracted a loyal customer base of people who value the knowledge, integrity and attention to detail that still characterises the work of CKL today.

Starting modestly in a barn near Battle in East Sussex, CKL’s growing reputation brought more and more business, and an increasing workforce. With the help and input of collector and historic racer Stefan Ziegler, CKL moved into its current, purpose-built premises in 2011.

A keen historic racer, Chris races his Jaguar XK-120 and is often seen at events with his wife Claire in her XK-150S. Internationally respected in the classic car world, Chris is highly regarded and acknowledged as the world’s leading expert on Jaguar and Jaguar-powered sports racing cars of the fifties and sixties.
