AUTHENTICATION
Originality has never been more important to the owner or prospective buyer of a classic car, especially when the vehicle in question is a very rare and desirable example. With our knowledge of individual car histories, access to cutting edge technology and combined with our experience in differentiating between original and replacement components, we can inspect a car and document its evolution over time and confirm which of the major components are likely to be original or are of significance to its history. The findings of these inspections are then fully documented in our detailed technical reports, which remain confidential to the report’s commissioner, and are becoming an increasingly important part of a car’s provenance.
HISTORICAL REFERENCE
When undertaking repair or restoration work, it is not only the quality of the work that matters but its accuracy, especially when dealing with cars of particular importance. With our unique knowledge base, we work with customers to advise them on the best way forward, whether it be working out how best to repair crash damage or helping them navigate the multitude of choices they may face when considering a project to restore or upgrade their classic car. In this way, we can help them avoid irreversible actions that could seriously impair their car’s value.
Another source of frustration for many collectors is the lack of paperwork that accompanies their pride and joy. With our own extensive records and access to many other archives, we can assist in sourcing period photographs, documents, race programmes and other information that can expand on the car’s history.

COLLECTION CURATION
We can also provide advice on building and maintaining a coherent classic car collection that becomes more than the sum of its individual parts. For example, a customer may want to establish a certain theme or possibly build a progression in their collection. We can assist with advice on tactical next steps and help with disposal of redundant vehicles and acquisition of others. On the management of the collection, we can advise on maintenance, restoration and logistical issues.
EVENT ENTRIES
With our extensive event experience, we are well placed to help our customers select an event that will best suit them and their cars. This could include anything from historic races, hill climbs, sprints, rallies to social tours and concours shows. We have some close ties with event organisers and can help negotiate entries, complete the entry forms and organise logistics if required.
FIA AND FIVA PAPERS
Another area of expertise is organising the papers a vehicle may require, be they FIA Historic Technical Passports (HTPs) for racing or FIVA passports for historic rallies. We are also familiar with some of the less well-known approvals such as the Mille Miglia organiser’s Registro system and Goodwood’s own Technical Passports, for example. We normally handle this as on a consultancy basis, organising the necessary inspections, liaising with the relevant authorities and completing application forms.
