SERVICING

Servicing is something all our cars need, whether they are covering a lot of miles on a regular basis or whether their use is more sporadic in nature.

With a regularly used car, we will look at all the normal wearing parts, for example brakes, points, plugs, belts, lubrication and condition of suspension, steering and brakes, and carrying out a full spanner check. We will also be very aware of the safety considerations with an older car and keeping an eye out for any potential problems.

With a car which gets less use, it is tempting to think it does not need as much attention. In fact, cars with infrequent use have some of their own peculiar problems. These include things like deteriorating brake fluid, sticking brake seals and pistons, fan belts becoming hard and brittle, stale fuel, gummed up carb jets, out-of-date tyres, coolant causing corrosion and blockages in engine blocks and radiators. These all need to be taken into consideration while checking over the car.

UPGRADES

We are often asked to apply a range of performance upgrades to our customers cars, sometimes integrating them into a restoration project, or alternatively fitting them as a stand-alone exercise.

We can apply a bespoke package of braking, handling, gearbox, exhaust system and engine improvements aimed at making the car more fun and engaging to drive. Some of these items will have actually “trickled down” from our experience in racing.

Then there is a further range of upgrades we can offer, aimed at comfort and practicality, such as improved trim and fittings, sound systems, improved seating, seat belts, noise and heat insulation, power steering, stronger brakes, and air conditioning, for example.
